Description:
T4 Polynucleotide Kinase is derived from the E.coli bacteriophage T4 and expressed in E.coli. T4 Polynucleotide Kinase catalyzes the exchange of PO4 from the γ - position of ATP to the 5' end of DNA and RNA as well as nucleoside 3' monophosphates. T4 PNK will also remove the 3' phosphoryl from dexoynucleoside 3' mono and di-phosphates as well as from 3' phosphoryl polynucleotides.
Protein Uses:
End-labeling of DNA and RNA for probes
Labeling of gaps in double-stranded substrates
Additional Information:
Nicks are not as efficiently phosphorylated
