You can also place an order by faxing a completed order form to 858-558-3740 or calling us at 858-558-3702.
Description:
This T4 DNA ligase is derived from the E. coli bacteriophage T4 and expressed in E. coli. The T4 ligase joins both blunt and complementary (sticky) ends as well as single-stranded nicks in duplex DNA, RNA, or DNA/RNA hybrids by catalyzing the formation of a phosphodiester bond between adjacent 5' phosphate and 3' hydroxyl groups.
Available in two concentrations.
Supplied with 10X reaction buffer and 5X PEG (rapid ligation reaction) buffer.
Protein Uses:

Attachment of linkers and adaptors to blunt-ended DNA fragments (e.g. construction of linker-tailed genomic DNA libraries).

Repair of nicks in duplex DNA, RNA or DNA/RNA hybrid complexes.
Additional Information:

Single recombinant polypeptide of 55.3 kDa, expressed in E.coli.

High purity, low DNA content.

Specific activity ≥ 400,000 U/mg.

No activity on single-stranded nucleic acids.
